Cage styling as we like to call it, is extremely important and something we need to get right. Your parrot's cage is its home, its play area, its security and its dinner table. It's critical for our bird’s well-being that we attempt to provide them with the same opportunities and challenges that they would normally face in the wild.

Do i need to bring the cage and coverings?

No, its not necessary. We do have cages for hire and we do have cage covers. Its really what is more convenient for you and what your bird is more comfortable with. Often with the birds that require large cages it's just not possible to transport them. If you are hiring a cage and do have a cover we ask that you bring the cover as it will also be of comfort to your bird.

Do i need to bring food?

Here at Brisbane Bird Minding we provide all the food your bird will need. We offer seed, Vetafarm pellets, sprouted seeds, fruit and vegetables daily. Parrots with special diets can be catered for as well.

Do you provide toys and treats?

We prefer you do bring some toys especially if you are hiring a cage as this will help your bird to settle in and feel comfortable. We do have toys available to purchase and each cage will have perches and natural branches provided. We do have healthy homemade treats that are hung in the cages during their stay. If your bird requires a particular treat you can bring them along too.

Do you provide environmental enrichment and stimulation?

We most certainly do! This is extremely important to the daily life of your bird. Alongside the foraging toys you may bring we provide foraging baskets, pine cones and natural branches. Your bird will be so busy!

I do not clip my bird's wings and do not want too, will this be a problem?

This is no problem at all. We cater for flighted birds.

Will my bird have out of cage time?

Yes, yes and yes. Every bird will have out of cage time unless otherwise requested. We try to give them as much out of cage time as we possibly can. That is the advantage of being at a Birdy BNB. A home away from home.

What happens in the case of an emergency?

Brisbane Bird Minding works with a number of veterinarians and specialist avian veterinarians. This is explained further in our terms and conditions.

Do you provide grooming?

Yes, we are able to clip wings. We don't offer nail clipping and would prefer to discuss appropriate perching options to allow your parrot to naturally manage nail growth. We do have these perches available to purchase and like any natural toys you purchase off us you can take them home with you.

Birds will also have showers / baths especially on those hot summer days.
